NLD-UK: Third meeting of 2009

The exile branch in UK of Burma’s National League for Democracy held its thrid Working Committee meeting on 29.11.2009 at its designated office.

The Chairman of NLD-UK, Dr Win Naing, acted as the Chair of the meeting and the General Secretary, Ko Tayza, acted as the master of ceremony.

The Chairman urged all attendees to carry on struggling for democracy in burma despite there will be serious difficulties ahead.

After the Chairman, speeches were also given by _

  • the Patron Dr Khin Win Nwe
  • U Nwe Aung, director of Burma Office (Europe)
  • U Rimond Htoo, representative of ethnic people
  • Ko Zaw Zaw Aung, 88 generation student leader

Then new members were introduced by the chairman to the Working Committee. After taking the oath  of party members in front of the party flag, the new members were officially accepted as full members of NLD-UK.

Then memebrs of Working Committee made reports and discussions _

  • U Lwin Maung (Vice-chair) about future activities of NLD-UK
  • Ko Min Hein about NLD-UK’s political events and demonstrations
  • Daw Yin Yin May about information affairs
  • Ma Wutyi about party finances
  • Ko Myo Thein about other activities

Afterwards, the Chair gave a closing speech and the meeting was successfully concluded.
