Burma Digest since its inception in 2005 has been running purely on a voluntarily bases with no budget of its own up to this day has gradually matured and now has taken a rightful place in the global media which  is making the world a better place to live in. With a humble beginning, concentrating on the Burmese news, particularly on the prevalence of Human Rights and Democracy, we soon figure out a bigger picture that ethnic rights is also an integral part of Human Rights and that the ethnics nationalities struggle and the prevalence of genuine democracy are part and parcel of our epic struggle and consider them as two sides of a coin.

With this conviction in view Burma Digest has reported truthfully and opinions shared without any bias to either the pro democracy or to the ethnic nationalities. Admittedly the exiled oppositions news agencies, magazines, journals both printed and electronic are bias in one or the other but Burma Digest has walked a straight path and cleared all these obstacles, so much so that the international community has given a hand of recognition to us as the only genuine authentic ethno democratic news in exile. This recognition came in the form of being invited to the World Editor’s Forum in the name of Project Syndicate an international association of quality news agencies devoted to bringing distinguished voices from around the world to local audiences everywhere strengthening the independence of printed and electronic media in developing countries upgrading their journalistic, editorial and business capacities. The Copenhagen Conference of Project Syndicate from Oct 9th to 11th was attended by 429 Newspaper from 150 countries with a total circulation of 71,435,600 copies and Burma was represented by Burma Digest.

Taking responsibility and not shirking our duties Burma Digest has also taken on the global responsibility. It is everybody’s bounden duty to prevent the global warming and climate change and we cannot be confined to Burma affairs only even though we specialize in it. Burma Digest sent its consulting editor Prof. Win (Kanbawza Win) and policy editor Dr Ma Tin Yee (Rosy) of All Ethnic International Open University both of whom are also Adjunct Professors of the School of International Studies, Simon Fraser University, of British Columbia, Canada. They successfully   put up the Burmese case and have requested the world media to portray Burma in the right perspective and answered several questions posed by the conference participants. They also have a lively discussion with most of the VIPs attending the conference. In other words Burma Digest have shoulder the herculean task of educating the world of what is really at stake in Burma.

We are glad that they have made their present felt in the world media and in the international community All the photos, videos and articles in this issue are supplied by Prof. B T Win the Dean and Dr. Rosy (Daw Tin Yee) the rector of the AEIOU Programme of the Chiang Mai University respectively and Burma Digest would like to share it to all.
