According to a news journal published in Burmese language in Rangoon, the Weekly Eleven journal, Buremse youths going abroad for jobs are now targeting Middle Eatern countries, especially Dubai (UAE). Most of them will work as waiters and waitresses there.
Previously Singapore was the favourite destination for Burmese youths going abroad to find better paying jobs.

According to a news journal published in Burmese language in Rangoon, the Weekly Eleven journal, the number of tourists arriving in Rangoon and its tourist attractions declined in the middle of 2008, down to less than 50% of 2007 numbers.
