Concerns for Burmese migrants in Thailand during current Crisis

Shan Herald Agency for News today reported concerns for safety of Burmese migrants in Thailand.

Burmese migrants in Thailand have frequently been harassed and bullied by local tyrants and bullies even in ordinary situations, and now recent chaos in Thailand will lead to more troubles for Burmese migrants.

Only a fraction of Burmese migrants in Thailnad have legal status. Tightening of security amidst chaos in Thailand will inadvertantly lead to more arrests of illegal Burmese migrants. And recent increasingly lawless situations in some areas of Thailand will expose vulnerable illegal Burmese migrants and refugees to more and more harassments.

So Burmese migrants in Thailand are WARNED not to get involved in current domestic chaos of Thailand, and just to try to stick together as much as possible inside the Burmese communities in Thailand.
