Pro-democracy activists led by Buddhist monks this week held demonstrations and seremonies in Washington DC, USA, in front of the White House as well as in front of the Capitol Hill, in honour of the first Anniversary of Burma’s Saffron Revolution, the pro-democracy people-power uprising in 2007 led by Buddhist Monks in Burma, where allegedly upto a hundred monks were bludgeoned to death by Burmese soldiers.
