Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheik Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah will pay a goodwill visit to Myanmar in the near future, said an official announcement from Nay Pyi Taw Sunday without specifying the date of his trip.

It will be the first visit by Kuwaiti leadership since the two countries established diplomatic relations at ambassadorial level in December 1998.

At the invitation of his Myanmar counterpart General Thein Sein, the Kuwaiti prime minister will pay the visit.

The Kuwaiti ambassador to Pakistan concurrently serves as the one to Myanmar.
