Chin-ethnic pro-democracy student activist Ko Tin Maung Oo was the first student leader who was hanged by the military regime(s) in Burma. Ko Tin Maung Oo led two student demonstrations: U Thant Funeral in 1974 December 5 and 1975 June strike known as Shwe dagon Strike, which started on June 6th.

He was an extraordinary leader who was known as “Big Lion”. Like KO Tin Maung Oo, genaration to generation, thousands of unknown heroes sacrifice their lives for democracy and human rights in Burma.

Their bloods are not dry yet.

It is utmost essential to remember the fallen heroes of human rights and keep up the aspitations to establish democratic system in Burma.

    Which has led to destroy the lives of Burmese people.

    We salute all our fallen heroes of students’ struggle for freedom, who have lost lives, others who have lost their educational future, who have wounded, imprisoned, tortured along the way of our struggle……

    1974 Student up-rinsing a continuation of our students’ basic and uncompromising stand of ” Never surrender to Brutal Military Regime of Burma “, it is a continuation of our student struggle of 1962, and it is the keeping of our struggle alive forever, until the victory, it is for freedom, democracy and justice for all in Burma and elsewhere…

    It will continue in one form or anther, no matter what happen.. Our this generation of students, and next…and next will carry this banner of freedom alive , generation after generation….

    As a 1974 student generation member, we do hope and believe that ” Our students’ noble struggle will continue, until the final victory,,,, The demise of Burmese Military Regime which have been imposed on us since 1962, by Gen. Ne Win and his cronies.
