Last November I offered to serve as a project director to publish a second edition of the book, Aung San Suu Kyi Fearless Voice of Burma, written by Whitney Stewart and published in1997. That book included some information about ASSK’s time at Methodist English High School in Rangoon where I taught her as a student when she was about 14 years old.

I needed some financial support and some people who would be willing to write additional materials about ASSK since 1997.

I sent a notice about this to the email list I had for the attendees of the 2006 MEHS Alumni reunion in California.

I got an amazing response.  I got financial support and three authors from Burma came forward to help with the book project. They all wrote and submitted documents to me by early April and the printed book is now available.

It contains more than 20 new photographs including ASSK with her MEHS classmates from 1959-60! It is 21 pages longer with a preface and an epilogue, two timelines, one for Burma and one for ASSK, and two maps of Burma, one with the British names and one with the Junta’s names.

It is available from www.iUniverse.com/bookstore. The paperback costs $14.95 and the hardcover version, excellent for school libraries, costs $24.95. All author royalties are being set aside to help the people of Burma.
