For years, the similarities between Zimbabwe and Burma have been obvious, but I have yet to read of any article comparing the two.  The situations in both countries are coming to critical junctures and deserve a joint discussion, and hence this essay.

To start with, both countries used to be British colonies and have English as a common second language.  Both are endowed with rich national resources but the peoples are  wretchedly poor, oppressed by ruthless military dictators, and supported by equally ruthless, unscrupulous super powers namely Russia and China, along with their stooge, that commie puppet-president Mbeki of South Africa.  These three interfering outside powers have abused their veto privileges to protect Mugabe and Than Shwe from international action but now has come  a crucial point for Robert Mugabe in the upcoming runoff election of 27 June.

As seen in the photo of a man sticking a party poster, Mugabe has brazenly called for a “100% Control”  –  such a shameless megalomaniac expression —  in the elections by every means possible which is very similar to how Than Shwe manipulated his so-called Referundum of May 2008 in which he claimed a victory of over 92%.  This is absolutely false, given the number of people who died in the recent Cyclone Nargis disaster and the callous way he responded. Even without the disaster, Than Shwe is so bitterly reviled and hated that he could not have won any election.    No decent patriotic Burma voter, given a free and fair opportunity, would have voted to support Than Shwe’s referundum which is internationally condemned as a sham as is Mugabe’s election campaign.

Mugabe  used propaganda to debase his opponents while embellishing himself.  He exploited state media while blocking access to Tsvangiri, his chief opposition rival, and banned NGOs and other groups campaigning for the opposition.  His  Police and Army conduct campaigns across the nation  to ensure his victory, giving inducements of food, especially maize, to impoverished village people, while beating up supporters of his opponents, as seen in the bandaged victims in the photograph attached below.

In the above paragraphs, one can take away words referring to Zimbabwe and substitute them with Burmese names, and the same would hold true to describe the situation in Burma.  Than Shwe has used state TV, radio, and news media to promote his cause while totally banning the Opposition from using it.  At least in Zimbabwe,  Tsvangirai had some limited access to media, plus some campaigning,  prior to the previous election in March (which led to the June runoffs)

By contrast, Than Shwe issued a total  ban against any campaigning under penalty of arrest and imprisonment.  To enforce it, he employed the Burma Army, Police, the Loan Htein security forces, the Fire Brigade, plus his civilian thugs in the  Union Solidarity Development Association (USDA) and the Swan Ah Shin, the equivalent of Hitlerian Brown Shirt thugs.  All these men have used rice and other inducements as carrots and have liberally used the stick, literally wielding bamboo poles, to beat up innocent people, as well as bayonet-fixed rifles.  Indeed, there is a photograph of a human brain found in a drain, (a tragic play on the cliche words, “brain drain”) in the aftermath of a particularly vicious assault during recent breakups of the September 2007 Saffron Revolution.  Now, to ensure his proclaimed 100% victory, Mugabe has not only beaten up opposing supporters, he has even murdered scores of them, including the wives of his opponents, and burning them, as well as arresting and rearresting Tsvangirai and his colleagues.  Tendai Biti was arrested on 12 June and Tsvangirai himself was arrested-released-rearrested at least 3 times as of a report dated 13 June.  He had to abort a trip when the Army warned him that “they could not guarantee his safety,” a thinly-veiled threat.  The threats worsened so badly  he had to seek refuge inside a Dutch embassy.

Compare this to Burma, where Aung San Suu Kyi, The Opposition Leader, has been under multiple arrests for a total of 12 out of the past 18 years —  and counting.  Far from having the Army  warning her of an attack, in 2003 June, she and her entourage were suddenly ambushed by hundreds of SPDC thugs (supervised by the Army) while she was out touring the countryside.   Her followers heroically used their bodies to shield her and over a hundred of them died in what is now known as the Depeyin Massacre of 2003. Since then, she has been imprisoned in her own home.    At least Mugabe’s thugs had the “decency” to warn Tsvangiri of danger.  Or perhaps they were too lazy to carry out the ambush and simply preferred to use threats.    Imprisonment in Burma is not only for opposition supporters, but ordinary people who clapped hands or offered food and water to demonstrators during marches and rallies.  During the September 2007 Saffron Revolution, such sympathizers and monks who led peaceful processions have been imprisoned, beaten up, and secretly burned, some of them while still alive.

Regarding appearance, Hitler had what I’d call a  ”black postage stamp” of a moustache.  It does not go across the upper lip like a normal moustache, but is just a truncated black square under his nose.

Now,  Robert Mugabe also has a moustache, but it is even narrower still, confined to the philtrum area directly under the nasal septum which looks even sillier.  Is it because of his British legacy (e.g., consider his first name Robert)  he developed such a stiff upper lip that he was unable to shave properly,  thus resulting in this clownish appearance?  Whatever the reason is, he certainly makes  the Hitlerian mini-moustache style even more grotesque.

And look at his knobby arthritic fist raised in its pathetic-looking  hell-bent-for-bravado salute.  Compare it to the limp Nazi salute of Hitler who was so tired after the first million “Heil Hitlers” that in many pictures of him, one hardly sees a fully outstretched arm, but just a weak arm bent at the elbow in a perfunctory gesture.  This is especially noticeable in old film clips.  Notice how Mugabe is unable to properly make a fist  —  note how the index finger is protruding out — signs of arthritic pain, stiffness, and weakness.  The man is 83 years old and about to die, and yet he is yelling all these crazy things about how he will “never die” and is going to hold on to power forever.

He is just as crazy as Than Shwe, 75 years old,  who reportedly stole the body of a deceased holy monk, roasted and ate the flesh in the insane belief it would make him immortal.  He, too, is just as crazy as Hitler who ranted about his ten-thousand-year Reich empire, just like Chinese Communist Masters who shout and rave, “Wan Sui, Wan Sui!” (Ten Thousand Years Old, Ten Thousand Years Old!”) during political rallies for themselves.  Than Shwe, like his Chinese Masters, believe in the lucky number, 9, which is pronounced “jiu” a homonym for another word with the same phonetic sound, jiu, but written differently and means “Forever”.

Mugabe defied mounting pressure on Tuesday from both inside and outside Africa to call off Friday’s presidential election, saying he had a legal obligation to go ahead.

Notice how ridiculous his name sounds if pronounced Burmese-style, CHEE (shit) na ma sah (eats only with).  Equally ridiculous is his name pronounced in the English style which sounds just like China Master.  Indeed, the reason Mugabe has become so power-corrupt is because he is a Red Chinese Puppet ruling over a Red Chinese Colony, just as is Burma.  He would be the equivalent of Prime Minister General Thein Sein in Burma in the bald-headedness, wearing of spectacles, and the spewing of lies and Injustice.

Notice how sickly yellow his skin is, almost cadaverish, and how much he resembles the Justice Minister Chinamasa.  The ZANU-PF stands for Zimbabwe African National Unity Patriotic Front, the name of Mugabe’s party.  It is a ZANY-crazy name because they are NOT patriotic, and their do not stand for national unity.  Under them, the nation is disintegrated, only being held together through force of arms (and boots).  And they are not true Zimbabweans, but mere puppets of the Red Chinese who have replaced their former White masters.  The Zanu-PFians are mere ruffians, TRAITORS  to the Nation of Zimbabwe.  The same holds true of the so-called SPDC of Burma which is supposed to stand for State Peace and Development Council which is anything but that.  There is no Peace and no Development at all.  In Burma, there has only been Civil War against civilians  (Civilian War would be more correct) with Deterioration and Decay of the nation, its economy, culture,  health, education, and living standards.  In reality, SPDC means Sinister Puppet Dictatorship of China.  Yes, the Red Chinese have replaced the White English masters in this nation also, and it is all for the worse.  Than Shwe, the Burma Army, and all his minions are villainous TRAITORS to the Union of Burma.

If you cut the rectangle in the ZANU-PF flag and move out the sides, you will come up with a deformed swastika. I.e., two of the arms should be facing the other way.  It is as if the ZANU party symbol is really a secret swastika that has been folded down like a compact automatic machine gun, ready to be unfolded and put to deadly use.   But you already  knew that the ZANU is really a NAZI organization.      It will be a sad, tragic day for not just Zimbabweans, but for Burma and all Freedom-Seeking Peoples if Mugabe wins on 27 June.  (look at this sinister selection of the date:  27 –> 2 & 7 = 9, the magic number preferred by SPDC which prefers to use this number and multiples of 9 such as 18 and 27).  Let us pray for our Brothers and Sisters in Zimbabwe who suffer the way we suffer in Burma.  May the World step in and help the Brave People of Zimbabwe throw Mugabe out of power and may the same prayer come true for his Burmese Brother Than Shwe in Burma.

1. Cut out the central black stripe
2. Cut the flag in half vertically
3. Cut the flag in half horizontally 
4. Bring up the Upper Right arm, rotate 90 degrees anticlockwise 
5. Bring down the Lower Left arm, rotate 90 degrees anticlockwise 
6. Flip over the Lower Right arm so that the hook end points down 
7. Flip over the Upper Left arm so that the hook end points up.
