Now the vote “NO” campaign against the military regime’s draft constitution is also visible in the streets of Mandalay, the second largest city in central Burma. This morning, April 4, the letters NO had been spray painted on walls on several locations in the eastern and southern part of Mandalay. Attached pictures were taken on the corners of 81st and 32nd street and 81st and 34th street.

Since the March 27 protest, the authorities have arrested total of seven activists. On March 30, five activists who allegedly participated in the demonstration were arrested. Khin Oo, Ye Zaw Tike, Zarni Aung, Aung Kyaw, and Tin Oo Maung were taken from their homes by the authorities to undisclosed locations. On April 1 at night, two more activists, Tin Myint (chairperson) and Tun Aung (youth member) of Thigankyun township NLD were arrested by Special Branch Police and remain in custody.
