This referendum will be Fright and Fear Referendum because people will be frightened and filled with fear of the regime. The military regime-sponsored referendum strategy is very clear to the people of Burma. They will go to the public and do this; Recruit and Re-strengthen Regime’s Rule through this referendum.

The regime has created poverty for the population of 52 million people in Burma, and using this poverty they try to cajole some people among the people by giving them some money; threaten with bullets and seduce with money.

The USDA, regime sponsored civilian militants, and Swan Aa Shin, another Reserved Militant group, will be used to support military regime in the referendum. And, the regime has already set aside two years period for preparations on new general elections to deal with any outcome from this referendum. Even one week is very long in politics. They have two years.

But, if “one head, one vote” is cast by every freedom-loving citizen of Burma on this referendum, a clear “NO” will be an inarguable victory.

The most revered monks and ordinary citizens along with students who took to the street in Yangon on September 2007 to protest against military regime in Burma will not vote “YES” to this referendum because they are the heroes who dared marched even under firing guns to try to get freedom for the people. Now is their turn to fire their vote “NO” straight into this referendum.
