When people say they support NO VOTE, it seems to me they are going to voting station and cast the vote “NO” to referendum. To be precise it should be called “VOTE NO” (don’t boycott the vote, but cast the vote “NO”). “NO VOTE” should be “not going to vote; it means boycott the referendum and stay at home”.

The reason of confusing which way is better, in terms of NO VOTE (don’t go and vote) and VOTE NO (go and vote NO), is because we are intentionally kept in the dark by SPDC.

To crown the military-enslaved constitution with strong legitimacy to prevent the amendment in future, SPDC desperately wants the referendum to be approved by half of the eligible voters. This is the main reason which SPDC is making the National Identity Cards to almost everyone in everywhere including long neglected Burmese Muslims. If this is the case, NO VOTE (don’t go and vote) will also be an effective technique too.

If the referendum will be approved by the majority of voting at the day of referendum, VOTE NO (go and vote no) is an effective one. If SPDC says clearly that the constitution will be approved by half of the valid vote, there is only one way that we must go to the voting station and vote no.

If, as I said above, SPDC makes the referendum law that will need the approval of half of the eligible voters, both NO VOTE and VOTE NO will be effective.

Some are complaining that NLD is not saying anything clearly regards to voting and the time is running out. I do not agree.

Firstly, how can NLD say any specific in the situation of no draft constitution and no regulation of the voting system are published? We all are just discussing on the possible draft and possible regulation, not actual ones of SPDC yet.

Secondly, NLD doesn’t need to call mass meeting to debate this or that for months regards to referendum. What NLD needs is a week or so to signal the people VOTE NO or NO VOTE or BOTH. It is not easy for NLD to say this or that before knowing the real situation thoroughly.

We have to recognize ourselves that we all are in a kind of darkness in term of knowing the up coming constitutional referendum. Actually it is a great mystery of SPDC military regime why they are so reluctant to issue the draft. People are not going to be surprised to see the military dominant constitution. We have already anticipated it. Why are the generals afraid to issue the draft constitution?
