A CALL TO ALL BURMESE

It is our historical duty to vote ‘NO’, or put the vote into ‘Black ballot-boxes” in the referendum. In any case, we have to prepare and anticipate that this “cunning” Military Junta will use every means to manipulate the result of the referendum; for example, they will definitely change ‘BLACK’ ballot-boxes to ‘WHITE’ as their predecessors did in 1974.

As for us, exile Burmese, UNFORTUNATELY we are not allowed to vote in the referendum. BUT we should present our wishes either through demonstrations or publications. We should inform the world that we don’t trust this Junta and that the referendum is a sham!

At the same time, we should not forget that not all members of government sponsored organisations as well as the armed forces are lackeys of the government. Many of them joined because of the privileges and their financial situation. Some were forced to join to get ID cards, and other reasons. If possible, please organize them secretly. If they can see the truth, they will also vote ‘NO’ or ‘BLACK’. If this referendum turns out not to be a sham, the result would come out similar to the election in 1990! Even if it is a sham, at least this Junta have to accept (albeit) secretly that, the majority of the people of Burma including members and officers of their own armed forces and sponsored civilian organisations is against them. This might eventually lead to a split among the members of the ruling class. This way we can win the psychological warfare against them.

All of us should not forget that civilians will not be treated much better than slaves so long as the Military Junta remains the ruler of Burma! This Ruling Junta must be out!! Let us destroy the structure that supports them!!! And the more we, the ruled class, can cause trouble to this Junta, the faster we could reach our goal which is ‘DEMOCRACY’!!!!
