The unsung heroes (The People) of Burma: _

  • Who gave their lives in the recent struggle for democracy in Burma. Almost all were ordinary people but who showed bravery and courage to brave the gun- and baton-wielding troops, police and local thugs, to show their desire for the return of democracy. Though we mourn for these fallen comrades, we’ll never know who they are as the final casualty count is still unknown. May their deaths be not in vain!

  • All those who marched, from the start with the men in white shirts, to the mass marches by the monks, to the civilians who joined as well. I think they all, collectively deserve the vote.

  • Of course we need to also honour and remember the hundreds of Monks, students, ordinary people of Burma who are working very hard and also many of those who have given their lives to make Burma a democratic and beautiful place for the coming generations. All the best to all the people involved in this historic march.

  • Unknown people who fighting and suffered and died under this brutal repression: this people of no name, no face…

  • People who went on the streets on 22.nd of August- most courageous of all. Watched the video more than 30 times and still get somewhat of a chill- seeing those determined faces of some people (some workers, grandmas, sellers or a bikerider just pushing his bike along that small first protest)- I knew it immediately- this will be the beginning of the end of a dictatorship.
