  • He is the monk who is going to be executed as a Kalah Ma Naing Yakhaing Mair or scapegoat. Than Shwe wishes to control all monks and also Mr. Gambari, so he chose one monk as an example, one whose name was similar. GambArI and GambIrA are a kind of similar. Than Shwe thinks that by executing U Gambira, then Mr. Gambari and the Thangadaw of Burma will become frightened. That is what Than Shwe hopes. We have got to dash these evil hopes by raising Ashin U Gambira to the status of a National Martyr. He is very brave and so is his family, especially his mother, not afraid that he is going to die. He deserves to be the Hero of 2007!

I agree that this monk and his followers deserve to get the highest award of the country.
The meaning of the word Kala manaing Yakhaine mei( scape goat) is wrong.
The real wording is kala manaing yahkaine may(ask). In the rakhine you say it as mee(please ask him) and in burmese sound becomes may or even mei(chase him).
You can see that if you do not study the history of the rhakine and discuss with the pundits you ould end up using the wrong interpretation.
The rakhine lives witht the kala people in the Rakhaine state for many years and knows their movement and their minds very well.So if you want to know about the kal ask the rakhine and not making the rakhine scapegoats.
I hope this message will correct the wrong usage.
