Dear Feraya and the FBR Team Leader,
I can understand now why you voted for FBR Medics as the Person of the Year 2007. If it were not for the FBR, many of the atrocities would have slipped past and forgotten, and many would have suffered without any relief. It is important that the world know about these Backpack Doctors. Just like decades ago, the China Barefoot Doctors made news headlines, let us work to publicize the Burma Backpack Doctors because they do not have any firepower to protect them. They only have world public opinion and the more we can publicize their deeds, the more material support they can get.
Back in the '60s, there was a Dr. Tom Dooley from the US Navy who set up a hospital in Laos to treat native villagers. He had no war to contend with, only the war against disease. He would return back to America from time-to-time to give presentations and talks to raise money. Perhaps FBR can do the same kind of world-wide presentations. At least today we have the internet, too. The important thing is to publicize and spread the word.
Please give my regards to the Reverend and everyone.

Happy New Year 12 January 2008
