SAFFRON REVOLUTION or LUMINARIES of 2007

I would like to nominate the Buddhist monks who participated in our world renown SAFFRON REVOLUTION as persons or LUMINARIES of 2007 for their charisma, courage, and sense of duty - serenely show their support of the students and people striving for their freedom and democracy, while at the same time protect Buddhism - unprecedented in the annals of the country’s history until today.

Again, I have but to bow to these brave monks for their ongoing defiance against the infidel military rulers by refusing to accept alms, food, and take part in the religious exams sponsored and held by the military regime, much less face the cowardly and brutal militarists, despite the brutal crack downs on the revered monks - hounding, arresting, imprisoning, killing and displacing - still ongoing today.

Their continued shows of defiance against military rule in Burma is the KEY and very instrumental in the bid to restore freedom and democracy in Burma and rid the country of military tyranny as I believed and soon would testify.
Hence, my ardent support and nomination for the brave Buddhist monks as PERSONS or LUMINARIES of 2007.
