THE HIDDEN TRUTH
Nov 14th, 2007
Burma’s military junta faced censure by the United Nations(UN) for its harsh crackdown last September on pro-democracy protests, with a Security Council(SC) Statement strongly deploring the move and calling for a peaceful solution to its problem.
China and Russia, even though agreed along with the much watered down UNSC Statement from a Western-drafted original, argued that the Burmese Crisis is an internal matter that does not threaten regional or international peace and security.
However, the International Community sought China’s cooperation and encouraged to work together with the UN, to help the parties in Burma find a way forward for national reconciliation.
Last week in Singapore, the Chinese Ambassador to Singapore Mdm. Zhang Xiaokang said on the Burma matter, “Give them time, give them dignity to resolve their own domestic issue not exerting pressure or even talking about sanctions.”
My G od! The country is in a disaster, abysmal, catastrophic, ruined and in shambles for quite a long time under the junta’s State Peace and Development Counsil (SPDC). Everyone would be bewildering “how much time the junta still need after nearly half a century of illegitimate rule” and many are doubtful whether this military junta has any dignity at all in the first place.
Mdm. Zhang even emphasized, “We have a Chinese saying : Good neighbours are more important than distant relatives. Whenever you have difficulties, you can seek help from your neighbours.”
True enough. China, backed by Russia, ruled out any United Nation Security Council action on Burma, wielding their Veto Powers openly.
So, let us evaluate why China and Russia are so much concern about and supportive of Burma.
There are many reasons.
Is it because : – being good neighbours as the Ambassador said?
- the matter is domestic as they argued and not threatening peace and security?
- of Burma’s natural resourses? Oil, Gas, Gems, Timber, Rice, Food, etc.?
- to get a strong foothold in Burma?
- to gain access to the Bay of Bengal via Burma?
Well, may be. But they are just a petty reasons inessential for the powers like China and Russia.
Then why?
Before I suggest to any conclusion on ‘Why’, let us fantasize what would the mighty hungry lion do to a stupid donkey that was caught in a trap right infront its mouth. OK, It’s a no brainer. The mighty and hungry lion would certainly have a stupid donkey for its meal. Right?
Yes. But, the wily witty China is smarter than the mighty lion. China, always and unquestionably wants Burma as its everlasting meal. Not just for one meal, but as everyday’s meal.
That is to say China covets and fancy Burma to become one of its Provinces, no matter directly or indirectly.
As had been evidenced in the history of ‘Sino-Burma conflicts’, China now does not have to repeat the same as it did in AD832 where the Burmese capital “Tharaykittara”(Shrikshitra) was invaded and destroyed by ‘Nan-Chao’ Yunnan Chinese.
And, again from AD1255-1287, China assaulted expeditions on Burma until the capital ‘Bagan’ was annihilated. The Bagan King “Narathihapate” fled and the ‘Bagan Dynasty’ was disappeared in AD1287.
The history goes on. In 1948, Burma gained independence from Britain and, in 1949 Chinese communists usurped power from the Chinese nationalists.
In consequence, during the Chinese Communist Revolution, the ‘Burma Communist Party’(BCP) was born. Since its birth, China relentlessly supported and armed the BCP led by ‘Thakhin Than Tun’. As BCP fought against Independent Burma’s ‘U Nu’ government and later against Ne Win’s regime, China kept reinforcing BCP by planting Yunnan Chinese people into ‘Ko Kang Chinese’ (Chinese who have long been settled in Northern Shan State Ko Kang Township) originated from ‘Song’ and ‘Ming’ Chinese Dynasties. These new Chinese reinforcements settled in Ko Kang and Shan ethnic ‘Wa’ sector in North and North Eastern Shan State. They mingled with locals and became ‘Wa’ ethnic minority group in Burma.
In a way, during ‘U Nu’ government and “General Ne Win’s” regime, Burma was acting as any home owner would if his neighbours ever tried to encroach on his land, by introducing “Foreigner Registration Card” (FRC) issued to the Chinese immigrants who settled in ‘Ko Kang’. Some of them travels as far up the River Irrawaddy to Bhamo, Myitkyina Townships and, some down the river to Mandalay, Amarapura. Now they are all over Burma.
During the 1988 uprisings in Burma, the Burma Communist Party staged the final offensive for the “Battle of Burma” by assaulting ‘Mai Yang’ Burma army base in Northern Shan State. During the battle, the junta generals themselves conceded that if ‘Mai Yang’ falls to BCP, they will also be no longer existed and the military junta in Burma will be disappeared.
But, then, the fate of the military junta was decided by the wily witty China at that crucial moment. China prefered and chose junta over Daw Aung San Suu Kyi (the Leader of NLD party) whom they believe has Western influence on her.
As a result, the ‘BCP’ suddenly withdrew its forces and retreated. Finally, the junta army won the “Battle of Burma”. Thus, the junta survived and endures its rule.
Nobody suspected China’s immorality and wicked plan at that time, until only now.
After the Battle of Mai Yang, China dissolved BCP into ‘Wa United Army’ with Chinese majority disguising as Burma’s ethnic minority group ‘Wa’ and contending for ‘Wa’ territory and autonomy.
Since then, more and more Chinese encroaches into Burma and integrate themselves with Ko Kang Chinese and Burma’s original ‘Wa’ nationals. Their numbers increase rapidly and their community becomes so strong and powerful that the military junta had no choice but to settle peace agreement with them. After the peace treaty, SPDC officially classified them as part of Shan National Race even though they have no linguistic or any genetic affinity to the Shan. Later, SPDC annexed for them part of Northern Shan State, a territory now known as ‘Wa’ region.
In consequence, many more Chinese illegally migrated from China into Burma. They obtain Burmese citizenship and passports through mismanaged and corrupted military and immigration officials. Many of them even stretched their adventures overseas as ‘Burmese Chinese’, holding Burmese Passports.
See, how smooth and easy. Not nesessary to fire a single shot. Not required to make use of those lousy old BCP bastards like ‘Ba Thein Tin’(BCP leader after Thakhin Than Tun was killed in one of the earlier battles) and ‘Kyaw Zaw’(Ex Brigadier General of Burma Army and BCP Commander) any more. One day, Burma must definitely becomes one of the provinces of China.
Today, Chinese in Burma are no longer foreigners. Not ‘FRCs’ as Burmese used to recognize them before. They are now Burmese citizens. Burma is their country, their province, their motherland. In upper Burma, the Chinese population has reached to more than 70% and the overall Chinese population in Burma, either 100% Chinese or mixed combined, has reached to more than 50% of the total population of Burma.
What’s more. They also have their own army, heavily armed and, they wear their own uniforms. And some more, they don’t care much to SPDC because they know the junta’s weak point.
With China’s backing and pulling strings from behind, they do all kinds of businesses, legal or illegal. Grow opium and produce all types of drugs. Operate gambling dens and even set up an opium lounge in the middle of the Central Business District of Mandalay, the second capital of Burma. Money laundering, sex trade, arms trade, smuggling of gems, timber, etc., all kind, you just name it.
In this way, China is systematically occupying Burma and, not so long from today as long as SPDC is still incharge, Burma will automatically become a province of China.
This is the real and present top secret plan of China, about which the SPDC also got a hint but powerless to counter for various reasons. So, SPDC and the Generals are yielding as much as possible whatever they can exploit and earn from the country’s coffers and resources before they might have to flee.
So, the wily witty mighty China is much smarter than the lion that ate away the dump donkey as a meal.
Now, the Russians. I’m quite sure 99% of Russians never heard of Burma. So, what has Russia got to do with Burma. Certainly, not just to wish Burma ‘From Russia With Love”.
There are many SPDC scholars learning and studying in Russia. Out of them, 50 military scholars are special ones. They are sent to Russia, exclusively selected by the SPDC to learn nuclear science and technology to develop nuclear energy and weapons.
A large Uranium Deposits are found in Burma recently. It attracts Russia who helped Iran to build a nuclear reactor and, to produce weapon grade uranium. Now, Russia is going to help Burma to build the same reactor as in Iran, in exchange for uranium and, gain stronger foothold in Burma.
Russia’s main intention is not only to gain something from SPDC, but also to annoy US and the West by instigating Burma to blackmail US exactly the same way as how North Korea has done.
This story may sound like a shoddy imagination, but if you are lucky enough to get a chance to meet a family member of one of those 50 exclusive scholars or one of the ‘Wa’ army officers somewhere in Burma, you may get to know about more chilling imaginations that may come true in the near future.

Dear Tatmadaw Thar1,
If you are indeed who you said you are, then I must assume that you still left with some brains to think. Most of those who called themselves ‘tatamadaw thar’ have brains just to know ‘how to obey orders’.
Well, for argument sake, the Burma Communist Party may have been used by China as a proxy to impose their influence on Burma. Many of those who served in the tatmadaw have fought with both the BCP forces and ‘volunteers’ from the People Liberation Army of China. Many too have lost their lives defending the country. It was then and now is now.
Now, Burma has become another Tibet for China. At least Tibet fell after staging a good fight. As for Burma, not a shot was fired and overnight we as a nation become Chinese servants.
Why do you think that the Chinese leaders asked SPDC generals to provide protection for Chinese in Burma? They sure don’t need to be reminded of ‘the wrath’ that the fury of Burmese people might bring upon on their people if and when the regime falls.
If not more than 10% of the tatmadaw thar have some brains left to think (other than obeying orders and making the finger twitch on the trigger) then we do have chance to save our country from China’s occupation.
Maybe China has forgotten that they could choose their friends but not their neighbour!
