  “In this time of vital need for democratic solidarity and national unity, it is my duty to give constant and serious consideration to the interests and opinions of as broad a range of political organizations and forces as possible, in particular those of our ethnic nationality races.”

  In the third last paragraph (in Burmese) the translation from English into Burmese does not seem to be correct. There was no mentioned of “pyidwin pyipa naing-gan-yei ain-ahr-zu-dwe, ah-phwe a-si-dwe”.

  “It is my duty to give constant and serious consideration to the interests and opinions of as broad a range of political organisations and forces as possible….” Shouldn’t this have been more appropriate if it was translated as “naing-ganyei ah-phwe-asi athi-thi hnit ain-ahar-su athi-thi -do-ye akyosi-pwa hnit khan-yu-chet-twe ko ahmye ta-zei alei-htar sin-zar-ya-hmar kyama tarwun phyit-parde” (ahtu tha-phyint kyama-do taing-yin-tha-dwe-ye a-yei keitsa phyit-par-de.)

  Come to think of it, there are few (if any) so-called political organisation that have been making effort to obtain the release of either Daw Suu or the rest of the political prisoners. Like the person using the monkey to beg for his livelihood most of the so-called patriots are active only to secure funding using ’struggle for democracy in Burma’ as the monkey.

  I suspect in maybe towards that end that Daw Suu’s statement in English has been translated into Burmese. In my opinion, they all should go back to their ’slumber’ and let the monks and those in Burma carriy on their struggle.
