Malaysian Immigration Police Negligence
Sep 15th, 2007
_ reported by Aung Naing & Zaw Sai,
Nearly ten Burmese detainees were fatally injured, and five have already died, because of capsizing of Malaysia immigration transport truck carrying nearly 50 handcuffed detainees to Thai-Malay border. Detainees were handcuffed in pairs in the overcrowded bus when it capsized.
So far, Malay police hasn’t officially released the names of those who died and fatally injured. Even when relatives of those Burmese detainees make enquiries, Malay police do not make clear replies.

In Malaysia buses that are no more fit to travel across the cities i.e. unfit intra city buses are given license to use as school buses. So they are meant to transport in one area of the city for short travel only. The bus involved in this accident is a school bus, not fit to travel outstation. And the co-driver has no driving license. (These are according to Malaysian newspapers’ reports) So the relevant authorities are doing the legal transport illegally. So they must compensate all those involved. But SPDC embassy will keep quiet. Malaysia legal system is seen by the people as under the influence of the executive. So this is a sad story. Not only the west but even Chinese, Indian or even Indonesian embassies would protest very strongly for their people. Myanmar Embassy is here to spy and double tax its people only. Because they do not need the people’s votes, they are not serving the people.
