It is difficult for me to vote for just one single category. So pardon me as I make some categories and vote accordingly.

Domestic Patriots

For patriots within Burma, some of the people who come to mind are Su Su Nway,  Ko Mya Aye and Ko Jimmy of the 88 Generation.

The 88 Generation Student Leaders were very brave. Even though their leaders had been arrested, they did not give up and organized prayer campaigns, the famous white-shirt wearing campaign, and a first-time ever, the thousands signed petitions.

Su Su Nway was also very brave in persistently maintaining her legal stance and not giving up.  She was in grave danger of torture and slow death as she was already in prison, but by being perseverant, she attracted the attention of the outside world about the absurd injustice of the SPDC’s judicial system:  imprisoning the winning prosecution, and releasing the losing defendants.  Thus, in view of the degree of personal danger and the huge international attention she brought about, I would finalize my choice in the Category of Domestic Patriots and vote for Su Su Nway.

Domestic Traitors

Some candidates are Gen. Than Shwe, Gen. Kyaw San (Comical Ali), and other SPDC generals, e.g., that general of the Labor Minister who declared that the ILO does not need to address the issue of forced labor in Burma which is a very bland-faced/myet hnabyaung lie.   Kyaw San, ironically, has been deposed for telling the truth ……   for once, he told the truth (about seized vehicles being auctioned off)  by his own bosses, but he is a strong candidate for telling so many lies like his former Iraqi counterpart, Comical Ali, the Minister of Disinformation.

But the biggest liar and traitor of all is G-King Than Shwe for his continuing adornment of his palaces in his royal capitol,  while wasting the people’s national treasure on weddings (his wife’s and his daughter’s) his French chefs and other decadent luxuries, continuing persecution of DASSK, NLD, 88 Generation, and the stepped-up genocide of the Karen people in Northern Karen State, the area closest to his Palace, and going south in a gradual sweep for a final solution of extermination like Hitler against the Jews.

Foreign Enemies Against the State and People of Burma

Indian President, Indian Minister of Oil, Indian generals, plus the leaders and generals of China, and the prime minister of Thailand, Thaksin; also the Russian leaders.

It is very significant that the new PM of Thailand, Surayod, is planning to issue ID cards to the refugees from Burma, a sign that shows how evil the previous one, Thaksin was.

In addition, the Chinese, Russian, and Indian leaders have vetoed proposals in the UN to bring the Burma issue to the Security Council.  Indian generals have been making personal friendly overtures to the SPDC, such as the presently ongoing automobile race from Delhi to Rangoon as is their own Indian people are so fat and rich with nothing else to do but watch races.

But worse than that are the oil minister who tried so hard to get a business deal signed with SPDC.  He failed, but his boss, the Indian president, made a personal visit, totally ignored the horrendous human rights situation in Burma, but instead  begged Than Shwe for a whiff of Burmese natural gas. Than Shwe turned around, pulled down his pants, bent over  and let him have a good blast of his gas, and now SPDC is going to be millions richer —  hence the new purchases of weapons from the Indian Army.

So the biggest foreign villain is the Indian president, whatever his smelly gassy name is.

Foreign Friends

John Bolton, Condoleezza Rice,  US Campaign, Free Burma Rangers, Karen Human Rights Organization. All these people have appealed  and/or pressured governments, organizations, and others around the world, and finally, the issue of Burma has been put on the table at the UN Security Council, as well as allowed over 10,000 refugees from the Burma border which was Rice’s personal initiative.  Why did the US intervene in Kosovo? My Kosovar-American friends told me it was because 30,000 of them all lobbied the US Government.  Maybe, if we, too, can build up a very strong lobby, maybe we can achieve the same result.

Today, Kosovo is peaceful and developing.  It is  not all there, but at least the killing and torture has stopped and peace is finally there.  Since the US Ambassador is under the Secretary of State, I would vote for Condoleezza Rice.

In Conclusion,

In Conclusion, we are to choose only one single nominee, after considering all the choices, I think that I will make my ultimate choice for Su Su Nway, because Ma Ma Suu has been imprisoned and the warm love of Ma Ma Suu has been walled off by the SPDC.

So we need a new Su, one who is Nway, a new warmth.  Ma Ma Suu would have wanted someone to substitute for her while she is locked up and keep the fires burning until she is finally released.

We need someone like Su Su Nway, a young woman who is brave and who will appeal to the world at large, who is a symbol of the courage of the people of Burma, and whose ordeal represents the absurd injustices of the SPDC.
