La Marseillaise,  from the first time I heard it years ago,  brings tears to my eyes,  stirs my heart, and sends chills down  my spine…..in short, it is TOTALly inspiring and thrilling. I hope that UK Campaign members will make good use of this song while they “Marchon.”

The original French lyrics were written by de Lisle in 1792. (He was a royalist, which is very ironic, don’t you think?)  Those who know the Marseillaise can use the French words in lieu of music notes. I do not have music software and so trying to cut-and-paste the music with the lyrics will take too much time and will look messy.

I pledge — later on —  to write more generalized verses to inspire our fellow comrades throughout the world for demonstrations against the SPDC juggernaut. [SPDC is the acronym of Burma’s military junta]

Aux armes, citoyens du monde !  To Arms, Citizens of the World !

Allons enfants de la Patrie

ALAS! TO-TAL, UNO-CAL THEY O–NLY CARE

Le jour de gloire est arrive

TO MAKE THEIR PROF—ITS OUT OF GAS

Contre nous, de la tyrannie

THEY ARE WIL–LING TO DEAL WITH THE TYRANTS

L’etandard sanglant est leve

THEY DON’T CARE HOW MA—NY MUST DIE

L’etandard sanglant est leve

THEY DON’T CARE HOW THE PEOPLE MUST SLAVE

Entendez-vous, dans la compagnes

THE SOL-DIERS  R–OB  AND THEY  WILL RAA–APE

Mugir ces farouches soldats

SLORC WILL  DESTROY AND WILL  KILL

Ills viennent jusque dans nos bras

TO BUILD TO–TAL’S LONG PIPE LINE

Egorger vos fils,  vos compagnes

THROUGH WHICH BLO—OD,  &SWEAT,   &TEARS   WILL FLOW

Aus armes citoyens!

LET’S GO—-     AROUND THE W—ORLD –[OR]–  & DEMONSTR–ATE!

Formez vos bataillons,

COND—EMN TO - TAL AND SLORC

Marchons, marchons!

MARCH ON, MARCH ON!

Qu’un sang impur

AUNG SAN SUU KYI—

Abreuve nos sillons.

AND B—URMA MUST BE  FREE!
